Falmouth has over 68 miles of coastline with an average summer water temperature of 70 degrees (the warmest on the Cape). We have over 12 miles of public beaches for you to enjoy.

Biking, Roller Blading and Jogging

  • Shining Sea Bikeway - 7.2 mile (round trip) level path between Falmouth and Woods Hole. Scenic views of the coastline. Access points at Elm Road, Oyster Pond Road and Surf Drive. Parking at entrance on Locust Street, Falmouth. 

  • Cape Cod Canal - 13 mile (round trip) level trail runs along the Cape Cod Canal from Bourne to Sandwich on the Cape side. Access the Buzzards Bay Recreation Area west of the Bourne Bridge

Coonamessett Farm
Coonamessett Farm is a twenty-acre farming and research enterprise located on Cape Cod in Massachusetts.  There are many farming activities located here, including a cafe and general store.

Fishing Fishing
Fishing is permitted from our many docks and bridges.  Enjoy the excitement of surf casting from any of our beaches.  No license is required for salt water recreational fishing in Massachusetts.  Freshwater fishing licenses are required and can be purchased at local tackle shops.

Local Golf Courses:

  • Ballymeade Country Club - The jewel in the crown, our Championship 18 Hole Golf Course, has been redesigned by Jim Fazio and Chi Chi Rodriguez to provide a challenging and memorable round of golf for all levels of play. You will soon see why Ballymeade is the "talk of the Cape" as the course utilizes all of the natural topography of the area, not offered anywhere else on Cape Cod. 

  • Falmouth Country Club - A challenging 27-hole year-round public course not far from beaches, cranberries and all that is Cape Cod. Walk or ride the championship 18 hole, par 72 course, or enjoy the 9 hole, par 37 "Talon" course. Flat terrain, lush fairways and our immaculate greens will bring out the best in your game. Plymouth Rock

  • Woodbriar Golf Club - a scenic and challenging Par 3 walking course.  Minutes from Main Street and the ocean. The Course was designed by Geoffrey Cornish and constructed in the late 1960’s. Most holes measure between 120 to 215 yards.

No! You don’t have to go to Provincetown to see whales! Enjoy a wonderful cruise while spotting the great whales of the North Atlantic. Cruises average 3 1/2 to 4 hours.
